No mirror paint no cry. Luckily this is a very easy and fun project to do that does not require items that you can’t purchase in Eretz Yisrael. Although we have no Krylon Paint, no even at Dr. Paint in Jerusalem, you can change a boring Maxstock 5 shekel glass vase into a heirloom quality vessel faster than you can say Presto Chango. Okay maybe not heirloom quality, but certainly something that looks nice on the shabbas table.
You need some cheap glass vessels, chrome spray paint and a vinegar/water mix in a spray bottle.
Spray the vinegar/water solution onto the glass FIRST and then spray with the chrome spray paint. It is that easy. Then let it dry. If you didn’t spray enough the first time, do the process again when it is dry.
I tried the gold too, but that was not successful. The paint was much too thin. It just dripped.
But the rest worked out fantastically. This is definitely a case of less is more. I liked it better when I only did one coat.
Okay now I want to make everything mercury glass.
